JOIN THE FIGHT

Your gift has the power to save a life

The spirit of the Dingo is one wild at heart, unique and misunderstood. They come to us from all over Australia, starved, broken and fighting for life. We give our hearts and homes to help these wounded souls find their strength, courage and faith. With love, patience and security they transform, like a phoenix rising from the ashes. They become the dingoes they were born to be.

We take pride in emulating the sacred values of Indigenous culture, supporting community initiatives and providing people from around the world with hands on native wildlife experience. We are committed to a bright and sustainable Australia. Caring for our ecosystems will provide all Australians, both animal and human, with the prosperous future we all deserve.

How Your Gift Helps
With the support of the community, we rescue displaced dingoes from all over Australia and care for them at our wildlife sanctuary –  a peaceful refuge where displaced, sick, traumatised and injured dingoes receive specialised care, protection and rehabilitation.

Our sanctuary is especially designed to cater for the long term rehabilitation of traumatised wild-born dingoes. These are dingoes that need a great deal of support and their average stay at our sanctuary 9 - 12 months. We also provide support to displaced domestic dingoes through our sanctuary and foster-carers.

Based on $7 per day for a raw diet of lean meats, bones, eggs and fish along with parasite control, the daily care for a dingo that stays with us for 9 months totals $1,890. Where surgeries, specialised treatment or health supplements are needed to bring a dingo back to health this significantly increases.

Additional vet expenses such as sterilising, micro-chipping, and immunisations bring the average stay of each dingo in our care to $2,440 (9 month period). Our sanctuary cares for up to 24 dingoes at any time in this way, bringing our expenses to over $58,000 p.a. for feeding, parasite control, immunisations and sterilisations. We also care for additional dingoes in foster care throughout Australia, increasing these expenses even more!

With these figures in mind its easy to see that we can only exist with the support of the community. As a registered Australian charity (ABN 58145582217), your donation is 100% tax deductible for Australian residents.

special projects

When Dingo Den Animal Rescue was created, it was done so with the vision to one day rescue, rehabilitate and support all Australian native wildlife, whilst focusing on our Dingo as the answer to Australia’s extinction crisis.

Our goal is harmonious ecosystems; with natives living wild and free as they belong, balancing each other out and allowing our unique flora and fauna to thrive and recover from damage done to our fragile environment. Our various projects within the sanctuary are bringing this vision closer to actualisation and we need your help to be able to assist all natives and help return our Australian ecosystem to its healthy, natural, sustainable state.

Our veterinary clinic fundraiser showed us the amazing support our community offers and just how generous and passionate you all are about our mission to save the wild-hearted! With fundraising for the building complete we now need to call out again for assistance in fitting our amazing clinic with the equipment necessary for attending to the various ailments and injuries that our brave dingoes come into care with.

Not only will this project contribute enormously to the health and welfare of our dingoes onsite by minimising the need to visit vets which can be scary for some, it will also cut down the demand on our veterinary system, and it gives our many dedicated animal studies and vet nursing volunteers amazing experience to take with them into their work placements and help build their careers; setting our community up for success and building a better future for generations to come.

With the recent increase in government baiting and culling programs, comes the need for increased capacity to rescue more and more orphaned and injured dingoes from the wild. They come from all over Australia, starved, broken and fighting for life and a safe, secluded, comfortable enclosure is crucial to assist in their rehabilitation and in allowing our volunteers to work with them over time; increasing their confidence and building trust in humans.

This expansion will greatly improve our ability to assist displaced and injured dingoes and offer them sanctuary until they find their forever homes or until our mission to have dingoes nationally protected is realised and they can once again be free to be wild and to fulfill their natural role in our unique ecosystem; protecting other Australian natives from extinction.

Our aviary will be used to rehabilitate injured birds, small mammals and marsupials, to be released back into our ecosystem or to live out their days in a safe, natural environment replicating their home in the wild. This aviary will be a beautiful retreat in which native birds can splash in the small water feature, hide in the undergrowth of Australian native plants or perch up high on branches, basking in the sun. Mammals and marsupials will have hollows in which to curl up and feel safe and sheltered and branches and perches to explore and play on as their health and strength returns ready for release.

We plan on partnering with fellow passionate wildlife groups to offer space for animals and extra carers when they are overcrowded, to relieve the strain on our courageous and unrelenting wildlife rescuers who had such a rough year and deserve our support!

Funds donated towards this project go directly to rehabilitating these species in an environment closely replicating their natural environment in the wild, greatly increasing their prospects of survival and re-release.

Within our sanctuary there lies an oasis in which amphibians and reptiles seek refuge from the threats of predation outside our walls. The dingoes use this refuge to play and splash and it assists in bringing orphaned dingo pups out of their shell and giving them relief from the hardships they have already endured. The tranquility and peace it brings for the animals and volunteers alike is irreplaceable.

With a small flowing waterfall, mossy rocks and native reeds it is the perfect refuge for injured turtles and frogs to recover before release or make a home in which they can feel protected and can reproduce safely. Native reptiles come and go, seeking sanctuary when needed and moving out when they please, giving these species a safety net to repopulate without the unrelenting predators they face in the wild.

Endorsed by the ATO as a DGR
To support those who support us, we have worked diligently to become endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) by the Australian Tax Office (ATO). DGR status demands a charity meets strict criteria and is not an easy status to achieve, but it’s one we deem worthwhile. Having done the hard yards, the ATO considers our charity a worthy cause to support, and as such, offers all Australian residents with a tax deduction if they donate to us. We’ve become a DGR for you. It’s our way of saying thank you for supporting us.
